The Tongji MBA education, launched in 1993, is among the first group of institutions approved by the Degree Office of State Council. The MBA Program aims at empowering tomorrow’s business elite with an international perspective, social responsibility and innovative spirit as well as with modern managerial expertise and skills in economics and management.

As approved by EQUIS、AACSB & Chinese CAMEA accreditation, the Tongji MBA Program has achieved tremendous advancement by meticulous attitude to probe new knowledge and to make contribution to the society. Base on the disciplinary advantage of Tongji University and SEM, its MBA program has gradually evolved its own professional feature in 8 professional course modules, especially in project management and real estate, service and operation management, and finance.

The MBA program has been internationalized in a real sense through joint training, developing curriculum and teaching materials, using internationally-claimed classic cases, recruiting first-class staff and broadening students’ horizon with the top business schools in the world. Since its beginning as a global vision, Tongji MBA Program has established stable communication and cooperation with more than 100 worldwide famous business schools in around 31 countries. About 30 students are sent to US, Germany, Canada, UK, France and Spain for exchange studies or short-time study trips per year. In the meantime, international students are enrolled to the MBA Program in Tongji.

In 2011-2019 Tongji MBA Program was adwarded “The most influential MBA Institution” by SINA. In 2012-2017, it is once again listed in the “Top Ten Most Valued Part-time MBA Program” in the Forbes Best Business School Ranking. In 2011-2022 Tongji MBA Program was adwarded “The most influential MBA Institution” by TECENT.

On February 14th, 2022, Financial Times officially released the 2022 Global Full-time MBA Ranking. The International MBA Program (IMBA) of the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University participated in the ranking for the first time, ranked 65th in the world.
