SEM Successfully Hosted 2018 China Workshop for MBA Delegation of Warwick Business School

From Jan 29th to Feb 2nd 2018, SEM successfully hosted a group of 27 full time MBA students from Warwick Business School, to have a 5-day China Workshop at School of Economics and Management, Tongji University.

The workshop consisted of seminars jointly co-hosted by Tongji and Warwick faculty, and 3 field trips to companies. Topics as Understanding Chinese Economy, Behavior of Chinese Consumer, Digital Business in China, and the Role of Business in China have been covered in the workshop. Students discussed and communicated actively with faculty while the faculty elaborated in detail their perspectives combining theories with practice. To help students better understand the market and business models in China, SEM also organized field trip visits to SAIC Motor, AC Nielsen Shanghai, and Fanli.com. Through the field trips and the interactions with the companies’ executives, students have a direct understanding how companies conduct business in Chinese market. Besides, six Tongji MBA students were invited to join the lecture and group discussion on China’s digital business modes with WBS students diversified in educational backgrounds as from 19 countries.

Warwick Business School and SEM started collaboration in 2011 and have maintained good relationships ever since in the areas of student exchange, faculty joint research and etc. Founded in 1965, Warwick University was located in junction between Central England and Warwick County. The university has been consistently ranked in the top 10 of British Universities Ranking, and it is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Warwick Business School (WBS), one of the well-known business schools in UK, is an academic school of the University of Warwick. In 2000, WBS became the first UK business school to boast triple business school accreditations, namely: The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business–AACSB and the European Quality Improvement System–EQUIS.
